If you follow this website, you’ve probably seen me talk about the cool aftermarket toppers from The Electric Playground (TEP) in the past. They are pretty well known for their neat Twilight Zone and Godzilla toppers. This morning the Company announced that it has reached an agreement with Planetary Pinball to produce officially licensed toppers for classic Bally Williams pinball machines.
TEP’s first topper under this agreement is a cool-looking topper for the popular 1995 Bally game Attack from Mars (AFM). The new AFM topper features great artwork by Brad Albright, mechanical features and seven interactive light shows. The topper will be compatible with both original AFMs and the 2017 Chicago Gaming Company remake.
Production of TEP’s new AFM topper is limited to 300 individually numbers units that come in custom collectors boxes. They are priced at $1,279 and will go on sale on TEP’s website tomorrow morning at 11:00 AM Eastern time.
A $100 deposit is required when an order is placed. Fifty units of the topper will be available to ship in only two to four weeks. Production of the remaining toppers will begin after the initial fifty and will be completed and shipped before the end of 2025. All customers who place a deposit before the end of the upcomig Chicago Pinball Expo will receive an officially licensed AFM hat.
The folks from the LoserKid Pinball Podcast just released an interview with the Electric Playground about the new topper as well. I have embedded it below as well as the launch trailer and a bunch of pictures.
