APOGEE SOFTWARE
THE FOUNDATION OF 3D REALMS
3D Realms is an American video game publisher and developer originally based in Garland, Texas
and currently based in Aalborg, Denmark. It is a passionate team
of creative thinkers and visionary risk-takers pushing the game industry we love forward. Their passion for publishing adrenaline fueled gameplay with an overdose of attitude is the DNA that runs through every game you’ll find in their catalog. Scott Miller tells us that"At 3D Realms we’re firmly focused on the future of gaming, but we’re just as proud of the brand’s pedigree as legendary ass-kickers in the video game business.”
3D Realms was founded in 1987 as Apogee Software. Scott Miller founded the company in his parents' home in Garland, Texas, in 1987 as Apogee Software Productions to release his game Kingdom of Kroz. In the late 1980s

a game (Warcraft) that had a full year’s sales, compared to Duke's seven months.
Apogee Entertainment, formerly Apogee Software, LLC, is an American video game publisher based in Rowlett, Texas. The company was founded by Terry Nagy in 2008 after he licensed
the rights to the name and logo from Scott Miller and his company, 3D Realms, which had used both previously. After reorganizing as Apogee Entertainment in 2021,
it hired Miller for its publishing operations.
Apogee initially made its name
with special anti-aliasing filters that solved many of the early problems associated with digital audio. Later, Apogee’s complete conversion systems pushed the envelope of digital audio quality and established Apogee as a key innovator in the field of professional digital audio. Today, Apogee converters and audio interfaces are
